Payments: Payments are due, in full, the first lesson of every month. Please make checks payable to "Denise Hughes" or "Bella Voce Studio". I accept payments via PayPal and Venmo as well. You may also choose to pay in exact cash, as I cannot be responsible for making change.
*If you are unable to attend the first lesson, payment is still due at the first of the month, so please make arrangements accordingly.
*If payment is not received in full at the first lesson, a $25 late fee will be assessed and is due along with that month's tuition.
Missed Lessons: Since you have a pre-paid, reserved time slot, Bella Voce Studios does not offer make-up lessons and no refunds will be given for missed lessons. There are no exceptions to this policy. If there is an emergency and you need to cancel your lesson, please notify the studio as a courtesy. If I need to cancel lessons due to acts of God or for other reasons, I will offer a make-up lesson for that week.
Withdrawal from Lessons: As a courtesy, I ask that you please give 3O days notice if you are going to discontinue voice lessons to allow me adequate time to fill your spot. To that end, I charge first and last month's fees during the first month of lessons. If I am given 3O days notice, I will apply that to your last month of lessons. If, however, I am not given a full 3O days, you forfeit that payment. I appreciate your understanding of this matter.
Lesson Materials: The most important things to bring to your lessons are an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a love of music. However, due to copyright restrictions, the studio cannot photocopy ANY music without prior authorization from the publisher. Therefore, all students are responsible for purchasing their music books. Students can plan on spending between $5O-$1OO per year on music and theory books, depending on individual progress. I will make recommendations for your student based on age, voice type and skill level.
Practice: Weekly practice is highly important to the growth of the musician. Therefore, I do require practice outside of studio time. How long will vary depending on the age and experience of each performer. But each student can plan on at least 15 minutes per day.
Students should also bring a pencil and water to every lesson. A lesson book or spiral notebook is also recommended so that instructions can be written down every lesson.
COVID GUIDELINES:
Safety for myself and my students is of the utmost importance. Therefor I will always err on the side of caution and follow the CDC guidelines as well as the NATS recommendations regarding singing in closed spaces during this time. As recommendations and numbers change, so do my policies. Those will be outlined prior to beginning study with me.
Please understand that scheduling, managing and maintaining a music studio is a full time business for me, and I ask that you please respect these policies.
